Welcome to project Trophy Limo Ranger.
This is, or was, a mostly stock '02 Ranger 4x4.
In fact, you can see it elsewhere in this website as a demo for some of our products, as it was our first r+d work horse way back when. We sold it to a customer, who then later said he needed to haul his friends around, too. So we decided to help him out...
As you can see, it didn't take long to remove, well, just about everything. The design criteria dictated this-The Ranger must seat at least 4 adults comfortably and safely, without making it top heavy like a seat in the bed, be comforatable to ride in, and be able to haul all those people's food and drink around for long trail rides. So we decided a LITTLE modification would be needed.
Not wanting to leave anything un harmed-er un modified, the old live axle rear end got cut up. It got widened 8.5 inches.
The shape of the tubular chassis begins to appear around what was once a Ranger.
You can now see the extended frame rails that will soon be the mounting point for the new and improved rear suspension, as well as the tube chassis taking further shape.
Here is the new and improved rear end all bolted up to it's new mountgs and links. Oh yeah, the old Ranger is now a four-link, and the new pinion angle required by this set-up gives the diff about 2" more ground clearence over stock.
Here you can see a better view of the computer-designed and CNC cut mounting brackets we designed for the rear links.
Here is where the b-pillar comes togather with all the other brace tubes in the roof. This is strong and rigid.
